Stay Warm and Save Energy This Winter

Stay Warm, Save Energy: Winter Heating Tips

As winter sets in, it’s crucial to find the right balance between comfort and energy efficiency. Here are a few tips to keep your home warm and reduce energy consumption:

Gradual Heating:

For first-time use of a wall-mounted boiler, set the boiler to 45-55°C in heating mode and gradually increase the water temperature. Adjust the temperature control panel to around 20-22°C. For the first-time use of wet underfloor heating, it needs to run for about 24 hours to stabilize the temperature. It’s recommended to set the temperature at 20-22°C initially, and once stabilized, you can adjust it according to your personal preference.

For users activating electric cable floor heating for the first time, it’s recommended to preheat to 10°C for a day before gradually increasing the temperature.

Optimizing Energy Use:Efficiency is key. For those using a central heating system, consider using a timer to preheat your home just before you need it. This approach minimizes waste and keeps your home comfortable without keeping the heat running continuously. For homes with underfloor heating, consider adjusting the settings slowly over the course of a few days to find the most efficient temperature.

Consider the Room Temperature:While the average recommended room temperature is around 18-22°C, personal preferences and specific room conditions may require slight adjustments. For example, at night, a temperature around 18°C can ensure you sleep comfortably without feeling too cold. During the day, a slightly warmer room at 22°C is ideal for staying active and productive.

Avoid Frequent Temperature Changes:Frequent turning on and off of your heating system can actually use more energy. If you're away for short periods, setting the temperature at around 15°C can help save energy while ensuring your home isn’t too cold upon your return.

Proper Ventilation:Ventilating your home correctly is crucial. Open your windows for just an hour during midday to ensure the air is fresh and doesn’t compromise your heating efforts. Avoid early morning or late evening ventilation as it could lead to heat loss.

Insulation is Key:Without proper insulation, even the best heating system is inefficient. Insulating your walls, floors, and ceilings helps retain heat inside your home, making it warmer and more comfortable while reducing energy consumption.

With these steps, you can create a cozy, energy-efficient home this winter. Stay warm and sustainable!
