On August 25, 2022 Fosun Paulson Youth Community Volunteer Award National Award Ceremony was held in Shanghai BFC Bund Financial Center.

Earthmother's sponsorship project, Sango's "Peer Mentoring - English Mentoring for High School Students", won the "National Outstanding Community Volunteer Award".

The Prudential Youth Community Volunteer Award originated in the U.S. and is the largest award given to youth for their entirely voluntary community volunteer service. It aims to encourage more youth to participate in public service by finding and recognizing outstanding youth volunteers.

In 2021, Earthmother donated RMB 100,000 to the Sanguo Youth Development and Communication Center to support the "Peer Mentorship - Remote English Mentorship for High School Students" project initiated by Sanguo Youth. The program is designed to help children in rural areas to learn and grow, and is a one-on-one English peer tutoring program for junior high school students in rural areas, conducted by educational mentors in Shanghai and outstanding high school students in major cities.

The volunteers work remotely each week to help the rural students consolidate their knowledge in school, while expanding on each student's individual situation to enhance their interest in learning English and their ability to communicate and express themselves, and to help build their confidence.

It is not only the rural students who benefit from this process. To quote one of the volunteers, in this era of rapid development, we are exposed to a lot of information, busy with our lives, enjoying the best material conditions, but gradually losing the warmth that is within our reach.

Urban high school students generally have good educational resources, but lack the opportunity to help others. We cannot see our own inner energy. Some are healthy on the outside but confused on the inside, some look tough but are fragile and sensitive, and some lack everything but can't find their life coordinates.

Peer Mentoring Program Activities

The Peer-to-Peer program provides high school students with the opportunity to participate in public service, to grow as a person by helping others, to become deeply involved in public service, to improve their self-worth, and to discover the value of public service to society, so that high school students can start thinking about social issues when they are teenagers.

The participation of the peer education project in the awards has been recognized by everyone and more people have learned about this charity project. We hope that more young people will participate in public service and help themselves in the process of helping others, experiencing the joy of helping others, the enhancement of self-worth, and the continuation of public service feedbacks.
